After Your PhD Is Moving to Substack
Future After Your PhD Newsletter Posts Will Now Be Archived and Searchable with Substack.
I’m excited to share that the After Your PhD newsletter is officially moving to Substack! All current subscriber emails have been uploaded, so you don’t need to do anything to keep receiving updates. I know this is a little quick after recently setting up the newsletter@afteryourphd.com email, but I strongly believe in experimentation and finding the perfect platform that can spread the word.
One of the biggest reasons for the move is to make the newsletter more accessible — every post and email will now be archived on the Substack page, so you can revisit past issues anytime. Resources shouldn’t disappear after they hit your inbox; this is not ideal for a helpful resource. Now posts will be searchable and accessible in the future, which is fantastic.
Additionally, there is little friction on the WordPress/admin side of things from my perspective, so I can simply draft an email and send it to my followers with few headaches. (:
Note: If you’re new to the newsletter, you can follow the newsletter by subscribing on Substack or you can submit your email on the After Your PhD newsletter page and I can upload it to Substack. I plan to make some changes to the website to make it easier to sign up for the Substack.

Alt-Ac Career Coach Needs More Survey Respondents
I’m doing a survey of people’s perceptions of career coaches. I have only 8 responses so far, I’d love to have more responses in order to share the results. All anonymous.
Please see the purpose of the survey here: The goal of this anonymous survey is to better understand perceptions of online alt-ac career coaches. Many individuals seek paid coaching services to help accelerate their job search, and I want to gain insight into how the broader community views career coaches and their role in this transition, since opinions seem to differ.
